WebI used claymore a lot in the other souls games but in this one for some reason it does really low poise damage. My 2nd game i used dark sword and it's 2X better at just about everything. Every weapon is viable in PVE, so use whatever weapon you like best. If stamina is a problem, invest in endurance so you have more.

You won't chip against any enemies and it's fast enough to hit and run when needed. There's sunlight straight sword if you want a quality straight sword weapon. It's a little slower and 1 more weight but more powerful.
