WebMay 15, 2015 · Fantasy Grounds is what we use. We tried using Roll20.net and some of the set up for players was a bit unintuitive. All of the rolls for just about everything are preset in FG II, and they've made targetting for combat very easy. It has the same capabilities as Roll20.net as far as fog of war etc. WebI started out on Roll20, too. Admittedly, I never mastered it and my maps were nothing better than hand drawn boxes with some images on top. I've been using Fantasy Grounds for over a year now and whilst it was a large upfront cost, you can split that with your group to take advantage (or pay monthly). WebThe only two things that Roll20 does better than FG are: 1) The map interface. It's easier to make changes on the fly with R20 and R20 has dynamic lighting. 2) Marketing. That is all. The basic rules also comes with some free oneshot modules if interested.
